The focus of the recruitment business is to provide a professional recruitment service for companies seeking IT related skills, and similarly assisting job seekers secure employment opportunities on either a permanent or contract basis. This includes but is not limited to Infrastructure, Application Development, Web and Graphic Design, Web Development, Business Analysis, Project Management, Project Administration, Management, Call Centre, Testing, Support and Training, and Language Translation Services.

The HR Consulting Services are provided by a team of qualified HR personnel who offer consulting services and expertise necessary to develop and fully manage the human resource function within an organisation, whilst creating a balance between building a culture, value system and work environment that supports and creates a workplace that is engaging and productive.

Based in Durban, HLR has a comprehensive network to provide support to clients and job seekers throughout South Africa and overseas.   For the past 17 years HLR Consultants have worked extensively within the Durban market, enabling Consultants to develop insight into Durban companies, technologies used and company culture.

HLR believes in developing relationships with their clients to assist them to grow and achieve their objectives. HLR provides a service that is mutually beneficial to all parties and designs service offerings and customised costing that allow for this.

HLR's Recruitment & Selection Policy

HLR ensures that each candidate for a position is treated fairly and they are exposed to the same standardised elements of the system.  However, in line with HLR Employment Equity plan and its agreed targets, people from previously disadvantaged backgrounds will naturally be the first choice for a position, should they possess the correct skills and meet the inherent requirements of the position advertised.

Geography

HLR is predominantly active within the KZN/Durban market, however they have been successful in placing candidates in Johannesburg and Cape Town. 40% of candidates HLR have placed within the Durban market have been sourced from Johannesburg. HLR has been successful in attracting back to SA high calibre candidates from overseas, through web sites and a referral network.

General activities HLR is involved in

In conjunction with leading IT Durban companies, HLR is involved in ongoing development of Durban as an IT hub.  This is done through promoting Durban as a place to live which offers excellent IT related opportunities.
As a contribution to the Computer Society of South Africa and its members, HLR promotes, organises and co-ordinates the Annual Kwa-Zulu Natal Chapter Golf Day. This event is the main fund raising event for the CSSA with funds being used to further CSSA initiatives.

HLR organises and lends office facilities to Special Interest Discussion Groups pertaining to IT industry and development.  It is envisaged that this will be of specific interest to all new owners entering the IT market, enabling them to meet and talk with more experienced persons.

Corporate Social Investment Initiatives

HLR have assisted young black entrepreneurs establish business activities by offering use of office space and equipment along with guidance pertaining to the administrative tasks of running a business.

APSO

HLR are members of APSO, The Association of Personnel Service Organisations (APSO).

The Association of Personnel Service Organisations (APSO) was established in 1977 and continues to represent its members in their dealings with Government and related bodies. APSO promotes and ensures, for the benefit of both clients and candidates, the adherence to high ethical and professional standard of business.
